Hi, new student!
Hello, new student starting in January 2025 – welcome!
It’s great that you’ve found our student union’s website – here are some tips for starting your studies and information on how to become a member!
Student Union Membership – Join now to get the most benefits!
- With the help of our members, we can organize student-centered free time and student culture at Karelia. Our main task is also to protect the rights and interests of students both locally and nationally.
- Once you pay the student union membership fee, you will immediately have access to the Tuudo student card and all national student benefits. Additionally, you’ll get access to Finland’s largest student benefit service, the Slice student card – even more benefits! You’ll receive an email activation code for the Slice student card within 1-2 days of paying your membership fee. Read more about our student benefits from here!
- You can join as a member already in December, but the membership for new students will only be active starting in January.
- Don’t hesitate – join us here: https://pokapoka.fi/en/order-a-student-card/
Events
- Our student union is visible on campuses by setting up stands in the campus halls from the very first weeks. Be sure to stop by and say hi – we’re here for you!
- For spring, events are still being planned, but you can find the most current ones on our website: https://pokapoka.fi/en/events/
- You can register and buy tickets for our events through Kide.app, a very useful app to download right away, as it features all the best student events!
- POKA members always get a discount for our own events.
POKA Offices
- Our staff is available to assist and advise you at the Tikkarinne and Wärtsilä campuses on weekdays and by appointment. Feel free to drop by for any matter when our doors are open. Read more about the services at our offices here: https://pokapoka.fi/en/offices-and-what-you-can-get-from-them/
