Advocacy, student card and activities – from students to students

POKA is Karelia’s own student union, which…

• acts as your trustee, solves study problems and actively develops a better UAS
• organizes activities that promote student well-being, community spirit and versatile student culture
• belongs to the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK and through the umbrella organization influences student political issues related to student benefits and status
• can be joined by all students present in Karelia UAS

.. whose members…

• get all local and national student benefits, POKA’s own student benefits and Slice student benefits
• support local and national higher education students’ status and advocacy
• can take initiatives and take a stand on POKA’s activities or bring up issues that they would like the student union to promote
• can act as a trusted person in the board or the council of representatives, deciding on issues or moving important issues forward for students
