The elections of the Council of Representatives of Karelia University of Applied Sciences Student Union (POKA) will be held as electronic elections from Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM to Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Twelve (12) members of the Council of Representatives will be elected, together with their deputy members.
Each eligible voter has one (1) vote. The electoral register of eligible voters will be compiled five (5) working days before the first voting day, on October 29, 2025. Eligibility can be checked at POKA’s offices during office hours starting October 29, 2025. Requests for correction regarding the electoral register must be submitted in writing no later than the first day of elections.
The term of office of the Council of Representatives is the calendar year 2026.
All students enrolled as present at Karelia University of Applied Sciences who are members of the Student Union by the candidate registration deadline, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM, are eligible to stand as candidates in accordance with the election regulations. Membership in POKA is open to all full-time students registered as present at Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The elections are conducted as proportional list elections.
Candidate registration requires the use of a form approved by the Central Election Committee, available at the Student Union offices or on POKA’s website at pokapoka.fi/edustajistovaalit. Each candidate must belong to an electoral list; an individual member may also form a list. Each list may contain a maximum of eighteen (18) candidates in accordance with the election regulations, and any electoral alliances must be declared when the list is established.
Candidate lists and registration forms must be submitted to POKA’s Tikkarinne or Wärtsilä offices or by email to [email protected] no later than Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM.
