Survival Pack contents

The Survival Pack contains cooking items, dishes and cutlery to make daily household routines easier. Check the items in the picture above.

POKA supports sustainability, so most of the items are second-hand but clean and useful. Please note that textiles are not included in the Survival Pack.

Renting the Survival Pack

The rent for the Survival Pack is 40 € per semester or academic year. 20 € will be refunded when the pack is returned in good and clean condition.

Exchange and degree students of Karelia UAS can rent a Survival Pack from POKA’s office on Tikkarinne campus.

You can make a reservation for survival pack by filling in this form.

NOTE that there are a limited number of survival packs to be rented.

Returning the Survival Pack

Please return the survival pack to POKA’s office at the Tikkarinne campus at the latest on 20.6.2024. A deposit of 20 € will be refunded when the pack is returned in good and clean condition. You can fill in this form before returning the pack.

Survival pack instructions for use

1. Check the contents

In case there are any items missing, please inform us within 14 days of renting to receive a replacement.

2. Wash the items before use

3. Use caution when handling the saucepan and the frying pan

● Use only wooden or plastic spatulas

● Use only low or moderate temperatures for cooking

● Use fat or oil for frying

● Do not scratch, overheat or burn the pans!

● Hand Wash only, use a soft dish brush and mild detergent

▪ Do not use steel wool or scouring powder!

4. Check and wash the items before returning the Survival package

The Survival package is to be returned to Student Union POKA’s office at Tikkarinne campus (Tikkarinne 9, 80200 Joensuu) during office hours or by appointment. A deposit of 20 € will be refunded only when the Survival package and its contents are returned undamaged, clean, and in good condition. Any broken or missing items are to be replaced, or compensated for.

All items are recycled.
